Thank A Mouse

The Thank A Mouse Campaign is an initiative to raise awareness - one conversation at a time - about the benefits we experience every day as a direct result of studies done in animals. The star in this outreach endeavour is the mouse; a widely studied species in research that covers a vast array of medical conditions which result in tremendous medical advancements.

It is important to educate and remind people that most of us would not be as safe and healthy as we are today without studies conducted with the mighty mouse; thus, I have created Thank A Mouse buttons. I wear these buttons as a statement of appreciation for mice.  When someone asks about the button, it presents an opportunity to start a conversation about the impact studies in mice have made on my health and wellbeing and the incredible gratitude that I feel towards mice. By conveying this information, the individual may consider the benefits they have received from studies conducted with mice and other animal species. The goal is to connect them more personally with the studies that have kept them healthy and well.

Any person who has taken medication, had a medical procedure, and is alive and well today is a person who has benefited from studies done in mice and other species. Whether they agree with animal research or not, it is time for them to thank a mouse.
